The most aspiring project “Dholera SIR” in Gujarat will set the benchmark for upcoming infrastructural projects. DSIRDA and Dholera SIR Act 2009
Dholera Special Investment Region Development Authority (DSIRDA) has been formulated under the Dholera SIR Act 2009. It has the responsibility of planning and development of DSIR along with administering government land within DSIR.
4. ABCD building constructed by Cube Construction Engineering Ltd. This site is directly connected to the 55m arterial road which leads to the expressway. Now it has become the main center for government business meetings.
5. TATA and Wipro
TATA has committed an investment of 4,000 crores to set up a lithium-ion battery plant in DSIR.
Wipro has been appointed as ICT(Information Communication and Technology) Consultancy Company for developing e-governance, smart city applications, city-wide networks, data centers, and dashboards.
6. The American MNC AECOM “Designing the Sir Region”. Master Planner for Dholera SIR “HALCROW”.
7. Recently , Infotainment channels like “National Geographic” covered exclusive information about Dholera SIR.
8. The Dholera International Airport will be built on 1700 acres of land, 29 km from Dholera and 80 km from Ahmedabad. It’s the first Greenfield Airport in India.
Aim: Reducing the congestion of Ahmedabad Airport.
Connectivity: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has acquired a 120 meters wide strip extending from Dholera SIR (Special Investment Region) to Ahmedabad. 90 meters of this strip would be used for a six-lane highway.
9. Dedicated Freight Corridor(DFC): The government of India has proposed setting up of DFC between Delhi and Mumbai. 38% of DFC is falling in Gujarat. The area of 150 km on both sides of the DFC will be developed as the Industrial Corridor.
10. DMIC(Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor): The Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project (DMIC) is a well planned industrial development project between India’s capital city, Delhi and Mumbai. For launching the project in 2006 the government of India has signed MoU with the government of Japan. The project has received a major boost from India and Japan, due to an agreement to set up a project development fund with an initial size of ₹1,000 crore. It is one of the world’s largest infrastructure projects with an estimated value of US$90 billion.
11. Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited(DMICDC)
Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) has been created between the Central Government (DMICDC Trust) and the State Government (DSIRDA) of Gujarat to implement the project Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC).
12. Ahmedabad-Dholera SIR Monorail Get Green Signal
Gujarat government has given the green signal to the state’s first monorail project between Ahmedabad and Dholera Special Investment Region(SIR). The duration for project completion lies between 2–3 years. The state government has approved the draft project report for the 6000 crore MRTS project between Ahmedabad and Dholera.
13. G-SER at Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR)
Recently, the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Cerestra Ventures for establishing a Gujarat Special Education Region(G-SER). It has the development potential of 5000 acres of land in DSIR comprising university district, school district, discovery district, and innovation district along with student housing and sports facilities.
We all know this is the first greenfield project in India. Overnight development is not possible. It has already proved even the lockdown can’t stop its growth.
